How are points and rankings calculated?

With every race, add more points to your annual ranking score. The season starts after the World Championship Spartan Beast in Killington, Vermont. The more difficult a race, the more points you earn. Run with the best in an elite heat and qualify for potential prizes. Total points possible with both Elite Heats and Open/Regular Heats is 300 – so each race loss or win critically important. Each competitor’s point score will be based on his/her performance against the winner’s time in his/her age group and the following overall measures. Points attributed to each respective race performance are then attributed based on race difficulty: Beast – 100 percent; Super – 98 percent; and Sprint – 96 percent. In addition, bonus points will be awarded for podium placement in Championship Races.
